Carbon-neutral electricity for refugees in Greece:
a sustainable solution to a modern crisis.

Elpis (Greek: hope) has developed a unique solar-powered mobile phone charging station ("Solar Hub") for implementation in refugee camps all across Greece, as well as an offline information platform hosted on a Raspberry Pi computer. By empowering refugees to stay connected to loved ones, they can maintain a lifeline - and hope.

SAFE, SUSTAINABLE ELECTRICITY

Elpis has installed six Solar Hubs in different locations around Greece - with high demand for more! In February 2017 we will be installing six more with our Raspberry Pis.

ACCESSIBLE INFORMATION

Our Raspberry Pi devices attach onto our Hub frame. This offline platform hosts medical and legal information, textbooks and novels, translation materials, and more.

OVER 65,000 PEOPLE REACHED

Each of our Solar Hubs charges up to 3,600 phones every month. With our current reach, we're already making a big impact - and we're on the fast track towards more.

We are a direct-impact charity with every cent going straight to the people who need it the most.
